Artist's Comments

This is the cover for Avengers Initiative #20 which follows on the heels of Secret Invasion. Cover's been done for a few months now but they were waiting until Secret Invasion #8 came out to show it since it could contain spoilers. The characters are Wasp and Yellowjacket.
Penciled and inked on bristol board with brush and Copic multiliner pens and then colored in photoshop.

Dude, it wrecked me when the real Pym stepped out of the Skrull ship, only to find out that Janet had been killed. Thats a sucker punch to the groin to return from a nightmare like that only to find your loved one had bought the farm.

Well, the bright side is in comics, no one ever stays dead.

R.I.P. Janet van Dyne.

I really, really love the way you drew her face. Simply beautiful. I like the ink work better than the colors, honestly. I guess I like stuff cleaner that way, though there's nothing bad about the colors at all.
