Now's my time to give a little notice for an artist that deserves wider recognition. Fort a long time I've been a huge fan of nose art. Nose art is that really cool art that was drawn or painted on the noses or sides of World War II bomber planes. I have books and books of the kind of art they used to have and have been looking for artists that create this kind of art today. In my hunt I came across Andrew Bawidamann. He has quickly become one of my favorite artist but, unfortunately, is not very well known in the comic or traditional art community but has a loyal following in the rock-a-billy, poster, and tattoo community. Above is my little homage to his amazing style and I hope you guys will go over to his site if you like my piece. I know it's not anywhere near as good as his work but I hope I could at least come close to doing him justice. As well as an awesome gallery, he's got a lot of merchandise for sale like stickers, t-shirts, sketchbooks, and posters so check him out and see what you think! [link]
My piece was a quicky done in pencil and ink in about an hour and colored in photoshop in about 30 minutes.
