One of the coolest things about anime isn't the characters but the intricate background that looks so realistic. I had to design Deadpool's small one bedroom apartment fo the new Marvel book and decided to go the extra step in doing full rendered colors. The difficult part is trying to capture a personality in the environment with no character visible. I wanted to give this a late night feel with only the glow of the T.V. and some lights from outside being the only light source. The most difficult part was coloring almost entirely in shades of blue and still provide interest and depth. I did this one rather quickly so I'm not sure if I succeeded.

Wow. Definitely a great setup here. Don't worry about your job, I can assure you that you did this wonderfully, and pulled the colors off perfectly. And I know how hard it is to do backgrounds, too, I really ought to be practicing those. =/

Given that I'm not aware of what happened to Wade's character in the last year (Haven't picked up Agent X 13 yet), I'm not sure if this would be useful, but I'd expect 'Pool to keep more personal momentos around the house. Don't get me wrong, Wade is a boozing psychopath, but I would have expected more hints at his past in his house.

Or at least a shot of him watching Trading Spaces.

You'd be right Rodgerson and, keeping in mind that you're only seeing a corner of the room and it's just the design sketch, more will be added by the end of the artwork. However, if you look closely at the shelves in the linework and colored version, you'll see Taskmaster's mask and a pic of Agent X and Sandi.
