Hellboy sketchesby `diablo2003

I'm going to be doing a piece for a friend of Hellboy and another character from the DC universe ( if he reads this, he'll know who he is) when I realized I'd never really drawn Hellboy that much so I did these sketches as an exorcise to see how I'd handle him. I love the character because he's one of the most effective designs of any character in comics. Simple, dynamic, and instantly identifiable even in silhouette which are the marks of a great character concept. All done in pencil with the colored version colored in photoshop.
And yes, I know the gun makes absolutely no sense but neither does a 7 foot tall demon that fights supernatural crime.

I only glanced at the pic before I read your description, so here I am expecting some mutated, monstrosity of a gun. It is actually very well done and I was pleasantly surprised that I absolutely love how you draw Hellboy, when I'm usually so picky about my favorite hero. Well done.
