Cover for the issue of Ultimate Saga coming out in a few months from Marvel Comics. It's a single issue that gives you an overview of what's happened to the Ultimates in the last 24 issues and prepares you for Ultimates 3 with Joe Maduriera coming in a few months. There's also a 4 pages original story by fan favorite- Travis Charest. A fun little read if you don't know what's happened in the Ultimates or just want to refresh yourself before Joe Mad and Jeff Loeb take over.

To be honest, I'm not really fond of this cover mostly because i don't like montages and think they can become very busy and messy(much like this cover). I ended up doing a montage because Marvel requested it. I hope the next one I do will be a bit more successful.

Photoshop colors by Christina Strain with layout, pencils, and inks by me.

Thanks for showing the process, it sure makes you appreciate the final product!
In the inked version, I'm curious as to how you got the plain black background to fade away near the bottom - it looks like you just scratched into it. Did you do that on the computer, or just by hand?

You stay killing it really. But I wanted to ask you somethings.

1) As an artist, even though you just stated you don't like montages, how do you go about mentally preparing yourself for the layout?

2) Why is the Hulk lookin a little old? (Or like he farted or something?)

3) Why does Cap have a chin strap? (I know it's football season but...)

4) Did they tap Samuel to play Fury in the Iron Man movie or will they do a S.H.I.E.L.D.? (C'mon bro we KNOW you've got the goods, lol)

Really nice job! Your right about montagues though, it's usually the way publishers try to get every body's favorite in the picture. You handled it great though. :thumbsup:
