The cover for X-men Annual #1 penciled, inked, and colored by me. 48 page double sized issue written by Mike Carey out in January so make sure you grab a copy!
And just because a lot of people ask, Penciled with Faber-Castell Grip 2001 size H pencils, Inked with Copic Multiliner pens and ink brushes all on 13X19 Bristol board and then colored in Photoshop 5.5. I also get asked a lot for tips on how to color. The truth is, I really couldn't tell you. Not that I don't want to but my method was learned simply by sitting down and spending hours playing with Photoshop and figureing out how things work to get the image to look the way I want(often failing miserably). My method is extremely slow and varies from image to image so there's no right or wrong way to color, just the method that works best for you. Trial and error is the sure-fire way to get better at something. You just have to be willing to dedicate the time to it and be prepared for heartache and frustration along the way.
Also, my 2006-2007 sketchbook is still available for anyone interested in purchasing one. Just shoot an e-mail to markbrooksart@msn.com and we'll get back to you with ordering instructions. You can also see the latest journal entry for more details.
nice artwork, although why Mystique would be comforting a (dying?) Rogue while Northstar and Aurora look on is something I think needs further explanation...
Amazingly well made... Gotta love the way Northstar is rendered as well as the rest. Wish I could do something like that. I have the highest respect for comic artists. Kiddos!
