How do you even imagine that would work? And now, of course, people start crying that their computers got infected with malware. Which is great - every genius who fell for this obvious phishing scam deserved it. I hope your shitty computer burns and you along with it.

The trailer to "Equestria Girls" (the humanized MLP spinoff film) finally was released today. Aaaannnd everyone's freaking out. Again.
You know, it actually looks pretty decent. Bronies... please understand: I know you're a major unexpected demographic for the show. I know you enjoy seeing shout-out's become canon within the show, and appreciate how the creators do little things here and there for you. But... the show isn't made for you. This is not Cartoon Network and the target demographic isn't 25 year olds in college. You're a nice addition to the target demographic of little girls, but you are not the driving force behind MLP.
I don't want this to sound mean, but it needs to be said. This is where it becomes very important to understand the fine line between being a fan of the show and thinking that because you've invested so much energy into the show that you're entitled to things.
I'm sure the movie won't be as bad as everyone makes it out to be. It honest

Opinions are a Dangerous thing: Art StylesThis isn't about narking on anyone no, infact this is just my own muses really! You could say this is a journal for ENCOURAGEMENT! *SHINES*
I find sticking to one style restrictive if you are a beginning/moderate artist! (even professionals I might say! though I can't speak for everyone)
Having a distinctive look on how your art is done and produced is understandable and its a desire to appear unique to the point some one can just SEE your work and instantly think 'Oh! that's Ten-days!' or something along the line. However, when you are trying to find who you are and what kind of art you are to produce, I recommend trying, well, a lot of different things! Different styles, mixing styles, different colouring techinque, brushes, tools, shading. Don't feel dependant on what you are already doing and don't feel pressured by people just for trying new things!
Push out of your comfort zone. Can't draw hands? don't avoid it! draw the heck out of them! (how else are you going to learn?)

Sharpen those pencils!!!!

Well, it's that time again! I'm still working out the details of the prizes and will have them updated on Monday but I wanted to give you guys the word on the new September theme so you could get started over the weekend if you like.
The Capcom contest was HUGE to say the least and I wanted to do something that would be equally as cool while, at the same time, would challenge everyone to come up with something new and different to draw so here it is!:
Draw ANY character or group or characters. That's it, just draw any character you want whether it's from comics, video games, anime, cartoons, movies, books, WHATEVER!! It could be Spike Speigel, The Bride from Kill Bill, Wolverine, or the entire cast of Sesame Street. It doesn't matter since any character from pop culture is acceptable.
Now here's the catch( come on, you knew it was coming). You have to draw them as MECHS!!! What's a mech you might ask? Well, a mech is one of those giant robots you see in popular anime like Robotech, Gundam, Voltron, or Five Star Stories. All you have to do is take any character or group of characters of your choosing and draw them in a mech form. The only limits are your imagination and the requirement that the character be recognizable in their mech form. And, of course, there are no collaberations allowed for official entries. Any medium is allowed so choose your weapon and get drawing!!
As always, post up your intent to enter here in this thread and, if you have any good links to mech reference, post them here as well to help out your fellow board members.
